Marilynn Babcox (nee Sumner), born November 24, 1918 in Akron, OH.
Beloved wife of the late Edward S. Babcox Jr; dear mother of Christine B. Vilas of Beachwood, OH, Edward S. Babcox III (Patricia) of Mayfield Hts, OH and Ruth B. Blair (Marc) of Cleveland Hts, OH; grandmother of Lindsay Tucholka (Scott) and Laura Vilas, Jennifer Grenwis (James), Josaphine Babcox and Edward S. Babcox IV; step-grandmother of Kristin Sallade (Robert); daughter of the late George A. and Ruth Morgan Sumner, and sister of the late Maxine Fisher and George Robert Sumner.
Marilynn graduated from the Old Trail School in Akron, OH and Smith College in 1940. Like many young people in that era, she wanted to make a contribution to the war effort and went to work at the Pentagon. One of her fondest memories was meeting then General Eisenhower. She lived the last three years at Judson Park in Cleveland Hts, OH.
The family prefers that those who wish may make contributions in her name to Judson Retirement Community, 2181 Ambleside Dr., Cleveland, OH 44106.
